Then you might be the Business Development Manager NL & BE we are looking for As a Business Development Manager NL & BE the focus will be on acquiring new partners by targeting companies across the Netherlands and Belgium. You take the lead in doing partner outreach, negotiating partnership opportunities and executing partnership transactions in Belgium and the Netherlands. The Business Development Manager NL & BE will report to the Director of Business Development. 


What you would be doing

  • You identify and conduct outreach to potential partners to achieve strategic partnerships. You are able to negotiate and secure these partnerships. You preferably start every day with some cold calls (smiling!) teeing up 1-3 meetings a day. 
  • You develop business cases ensuring the partnership will result in the anticipated financial objectives. 
  • You prepare presentations to (potential) partners and management on an ad-hoc basis. 
  • You are charismatic and network at senior levels externally to spread the Sungevity mission. 
  • You act as account manager for partners in prioritized markets. 
  • You work with the Director of BD to revise and innovate on the best partnership strategy.

About you

The Business Development Manager NL & BE has a confident presence, and the ability to balance multiple projects while exhibiting superior time-management skills. He or she will have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude. Preferably, you have an established network in the (distributed) energy/utility industry. At minimum, you recognize yourself in below competencies:

  • Must-have: native speaker Dutch, fluent in English, knowledge of German/French or Italian would be a plus. 
  • You have experience in sales and business development, you are always looking for new ways to leverage strategic opportunities. 
  • You have superior written and verbal communication skills. 
  • You are able to uncover and articulate the strategic synergy between two organizations to structure a winning partnership. 
  • You are able to synthesize financial and strategic analysis into comprehensive presentations for executive staff to drive top-level decision making. 
  • You are able to independently create compelling, quantifiable value propositions and models. 
  • Excel experience and proficiency required. 
  • Fundamental understanding of and excitement for the growing global solar photo-voltaic industry, solar industry experience is preferred.

Het Business Development team houdt zich bezig met - je raadt het al - het creëren van new business. We doen onderzoek naar de nieuwe markten die we kunnen betreden. Daarnaast is het Business Development team verantwoordelijk voor de grotere, commerciële projecten en voor het sluiten van nieuwe partnerships. Tot slot denken we na over nieuwe producten en services waarmee we mensen kunnen helpen om nog slimmer om te gaan met energie.
